I love this dress...but it's too $$...can you help a budget fashionista out!

Hi girls, So I found a dress online that I LOVE: www.juddwaddell.com go to "collections" and then it's dress # 1&2 unfortunately it is between $3000-$4000 (I called the number on the designer website to check) I don't need the designer label, I just want something with a similar siholuette/feel. Does anyone have any ideas? And no, I am not willing to have an imitation made in China. :-) Let me know if you remember seeing any other dresses in your search that has a similar look! Thanks! Gina

I know Maggie Soterro has something similar, you might want to check out that designer's line.  Definitely won't cost 3-4 grand either.Good Luck and HTH!

You can always try Pearls Place, they have a good reputation on the Knot boards. They will quote you with a lower price and they charge no taxes. They are in Lousiana I think. You just need to provide them with your sizes, designer and model. Here's the link... http://www.pearlsplace.com/

I never looked into this, but I was told that down in Westminster, there are a few places that will make similar dresses for you. Don't have the names of places, but I'm sure if you call around you might find places that will make the dress for you.

Hi Gina, I went and looked at the dress and it looks very similar to one my best friend wore for her Dec '08 wedding. Here is a link to the website. http://www.watters.com/product.php?style=maria&submit.x=14&submit.y=12#It is a little different than the Judd Waddell dress but it is kinda similar and is really pretty on. Plus the beaded sash is removable so if you dont' like you don't have to wear it. If you want I can email you pics of my friend in her dress. HTH!

I second Pearl's Place!  They are awesome and best prices anywhere.  They are located in Louisiana so unfortunately you are limited to phone ordering if you live in Los Angeles.  But they are an actual store and an official retailer for all the designers they carry, you will see them listed in ads in bridal magazines.  I tried on dresses locally and once I decided I called to order by just giving them the designer and model number.  Piece of cake!  They also give free quotes if you are still looking.  We ordered the BM dresses and my wedding dress there and it worked like a charm!  Dresses were the exact quality I expected.

I have been paging through Maggie's website for you but they have alot of gowns.  I did find something similar through the Moonlight collection.http://tinyurl.com/yzqvlb4It's a bit more ornate than the Judd Waddel you saw, but when I priced their dresses online they were pretty reasonable in the $700 to $1200 range.I'll try to keep looking for another strapless tiered organza gown that has that trumpet flare to it.

Vans18....Pearl's Place is a great idea....however I already called and they don't carry Judd Waddell. Thank you for reminding everyone that Pearl's Place is good to go though!! My BFF Heather bought a $1000 dress there for $600!!

That's too bad that Pearl's Place doesn't carry that brand.  I had that problem with a few designers I looked at.  There is another similar company based in NYC I think its called RK Bridal?  Try them, they carried slightly different designers.

Gina, I'm sorry I thought I had some pictures here at work but I don't I will email you them as soon as I get home.  Oh by the way not sure what your budget is but her dress was about $900.  But maybe pearlsplace carries Watters & Watters.  Ok I will email when I get home.

I too fell in love with Judd Waddell when I was dress shopping. The dress was like $4500 though! haha riiiiight! You won't find his dresser cheaper anywhere. He only sells to a few select high end shops. Your best luck is finding something similar or going with a used dress. You may want to check with the Glamour Closet to see if they carry his samples.

You could go to a seamstress and see what they could do for you.  if you show them a picture they will be pretty head on and you wont have to pay a fortune, or you can look for a trunk show.  They might offer it cheaper at a trunk show.

I tried on a similar dress, well the skirt was similar at least, by Modern Trousseau. I'm not positive, but I'm pretty sure it was in the 1k range. Here is a link, the dress is called Keira (they had a few variations on this dress with the same skirt but different tops at the bridal salon, this is the only one I see on the website though) http://www.moderntrousseau.com/bridal-collection08-3.html

There was also a Pronovias dress I tried on that had a similar look. Can't remember the name of it though.

Well how much are you willing to spend?  You can probably find something similar at Alfred Angelo for maybe $1000.
