That is terrible! I know it can put a kink in the works. I lost my job this year too and it is tough. I hope he will be able to find something soon. That is too bad you found out while you were at work...but he probably wanted some words of comfort. On the bright side, marriage is all about loving and supporting one another "in good times and in bad." You guys will make it through this and be a stronger couple in the long run. Sending you guys good wishes!!!!!

Oh, no!  I'm soo sorry to hear that.Ugh it's such a downer to hear these things happen especially when you've been through it too.  My FI got hurt on the job and they fired him because he was out "too long" but it was doctors orders =/he was out for months but got a job 2 months ago, and my work is super slow so we are feeling the struggle too. =[ It'll work out believe me.  I know it's tough but try and stay positive at least they gave him notice and it wasn't just the day of.He was probably so upset and stressed he had to tell you right away.Everything will work out for you 2 stay strong and just be supportive =]

Good luck with everything! Have him apply for unemployment ASAP. At least the gov't has extended it, and I can't see why he wouldn't qualify.

I'm sending good knottie vibes your way!  Hang in there!  I know it's such a rough situation to be in.  My husband's position was deleted from his company 3 months before our wedding after the budget had been set and contracts had been signed.  He had to take a huge pay cut and since I was still in school, it really hurt.  Hope things get better for you guys!

Sorry to hear the bad news =( Sending you guys 'lucky get a good paying job quick' vibes your way. I know it's hard. When we postponed, part of it had to do with sucky career stuff that set us back. Don't worry you'll get there. [hugs]

uggg! I feel your pain! I lost my job 6 months before our wedding it could not find a new job. (I just started my new job 2 weeks after the wedding). It was really tough and I have to admit that I thought we wouldn't be able to make it financially and even thought about postponing the wedding. But we stuck in there, cut out a LOT of extra expenses, and got very creative finding ways to afford everything. In the end it worked out nice since I had so much time off to take care of wedding stuff. Here's my few recommendations: we went to our venue and told them we wre thinking of postponing and they cut about $1000 off our estimate by cutting things here and there. I also did all of my placecards, menus, etc.. all by myself since I had so much time to do it. Put your FI to work! But DO tell him to apply for unemployment asap! It takes several weeks for them to process because you won't get a check until after you have a phone interview with them. They are so far behind right now that it can take a month just to get an apoinmtment. I forgot to send in my weekly "I'm still not working" form during all the wedding chaos and I don't get any of my checks now until they give me another phone interview in late october! i've already started a job and I won't even be able to get my checks for months! Hang in there girl. You'll get through this and you'll find out just how strong your relationship really is.

Sorry to hear about that vans. Same thing happened to my FI. Luckily, he found work quickly and it's a much better place for him. But I can totally understand your stress and it's just an awful feeling. Definitely let your vendors know that your financial situation has changed. All of them are aware that in this economic climate, a lot of people are out of work. See if they can can help you cut costs in any way. And ditto july on telling him to file for unemployment ASAP and fill out all the paperwork promptly. Hang in there and it will be ok. Things happen for a reason. My husband loves the company he works with - you never know if a better job for your FI will be around the corner.

I am so sorry to hear that Vans!!!  The good thing is that the timing couldn't be better bc a ton of companys are going to hire seasonal for the holidays and if he does a good job, which I'm sure he will, they should keep him on staff!  A great career can come out of a "temporary" type job!!!
