GRRR Knot checklist is rediculous

Okay, in August I started to realize that some of the stuff on the wedding list checker is just totally unnecessary fluff designed to make a bride crazy, demanding, and just plain take a match to all her hard earned money and start a bonfire. So I decided I wasn't going to check it for awhile. Because I was on top of things.I checked it today. And guess why I have 69 things left to do???Drum roll please . . . . .My list has duplicates of everything! At first I was "oh no I have all this crap that I forgot . . . " And then I looked at the list again and was like "Hey wait a minute, I have done all this stuff!!"Seriously, can the people making all these crazy check lists actually get a dose of reality please? Or if not that, at least stop putting duplicates of everything I have already completed in my checklist just to make me crazy? The only people it makes me want to go bridezilla on is you[the people who are making the stupid duplicate lists].

I read that Checklist throughly once, then went back and un-checked everything that either was not realted to me, or things that were "duplicate". It narrow it down pretty well. Plus, you dont need to do it exactly when it tell you. Its to help you kinda keep you on track. =) Dont stress about it =D

Honestly, I made my own checklist (and then got one from my DOC too). Figure out what you actually need and when it should be done by. The Knot has you do stuff WAY earlier than needed (it says to buy your dress over a year out and I bought mine 6 1/2 months out). Print out your list and keep a copy near the computer and one in your purse. That's what worked best for me!

I heard it sort of crashed yesterday and people with less than a month to go had their checklists reset. If you have a guest list in TK, back it up in excel.

Our master guest list is in excel. So that's fine. And yeah I totally know the knot has you do things way more early than needed.  The nice thing with regards to reception venues was that I was able to get my first choice date with each venue that I interviewed.  But if you follow the list to the letter, you end up with a huge chunk of time and alot of things on there are just not super necessary right off the bat.

msmery- That's what happened! I checked mine today and all of a sudden it told me I had to do everything all over again, haha. So lame!

The knot guest list is a joke. I would update it and it always said I had 84 items left on my list. Even when there were like 10 things on the list.

Glad to hear I wasn't the only one whose checklist duplicated! I thought I did something wrong! Also, does the music from "the knot tv" ad drive anyone else crazy every time you go to a post?!
