?'s you asked photographers you met with...

 Hi ladies.

When you were looking for a photographer, what questions did you ask them to help you make a decision?  I was searching the older posts to see if it's been asked, but didn't find anything.

What is included in the package: number of shooters, time limit, albums, high res DVD? Can you edit pictures as requested, like if I want a photo in warm tones, or can you take out this blemish? Do you offer online purchasing and viewing? How long does it take to get our pictures and album? Can we come back at a later time and purchase an album? Will these prices be valid if we choose to wait? Do I have printing rights for the photos? Do I recieve all the images or do you only give the ones you like (I asked this because my sister got absolutely no images of her and our father dancing at her wedding). What would extra time cost if I wanted you there longer? Is the deposit refundable if we need to change the date or cancel for some reason?

That's about all I can think of.

i would definitely ask about what would happen if he/she had an emergency and couldn't make it. i mean, we book so far in advance. what if your photographer gets pregnant after you book her and she's due the week of your wedding? that would be crazy, but it could happen! yikes. ask if they have someone with a similar style that they could call in the event of an emergency Laughing

From what I remember, I asked if we were allowed to bring in a 2nd shooter, if we get a cd of all the images, if we could customize our own package, what their perspective was on photography (explain their syle)

Bounce your own ideas off of him/her and she what the response is. Ask what the deposit is and the payment timeline. If they want all the money before the wedding, it's a red flag. Ask if they shoot on digital or film or both.

I emailed everyone first and explained what I was looking for, so they sent me the packages that were in my price range. One also gave me a better deal than her normally cheapest package because I didn't want a lot of frills. So don't be afraid to ask for changes or substitutions.

The photographer I just booked yesterday is awesome. She said if we go over the 8 hours it doesn't matter. Haha. She's excited about my vision for the wedding photos and wants me to find examples of what I'm looking for.

Thank you ladies!  I'm going to meet with a photographer later, and I'm definetly going to keep your questions in mind. I've been emailing and calling other photographers to set up meetings as well. I want to make sure we find the one that best meets our needs.  I can't wait to find our photographer, so we can check off another vendor from our list.
