are you using a limo or other rented transportation?

I would love to get a limo for the wedding day for the wedding party, but it just seems like such a waste of money. We are getting ready at a hotel that is 2 miles from the venue and I just spoke to someone who says that there is an 8 hour minimum. He gave me a deal but it seems ridiculous to spend that much money.

The problem he said is that it is prom season in May.

Anybody know any company that might be cheaper or have any other cool transportation ideas?

Thanks.

I would save your money and talk to your BP about them driving themselves in groups.  That's what we did and it worked out just fine.  For our "get away" car we were supposed to leave in DH fathers mini cooper which would have made for some cute pictures.

Side note: the mini's battery died when DH was leaving for the ceremony so we walked out.  We confused most of our guests as we walked around the house Laughing

I agree, I think renting a limo would be a waste of money. I have been to lots of weddings and every one had the wedding party drive themselves. No one is looking at the wedding party -- they are looking at the bride and groom!

I'd either ask to borrow someone's cool car, or maybe even rent one for the day or weekend - 'cause that'll be cheaper than the Limo and you'll have it all day for any errands you might have to run.

Ditto PP's. It was an extra expense that was one of the first to go for us. Our ceremony and reception were very close together so our bridal party all drove themselves and we used my mom's convertible Mini Cooper as our "getaway" car. It made for cute pics and saved money too!
