Hi everyone!
I've been here for a couple months but can now post!
We officially got engaged yesterday in Savannah, GA. on our third year anniversary. He was going to propose to me in Chippewa Park, but it was busy and thankfully he knew I would be extremely shy if he did it in front of a lot of people. We walked around the park a bit and I suggested we go drop off our coats at the car as it was warmer than we had anticipated.
On the way back I kept asking him when we would do gifts so we wouldn't have to carry them around all day with us. He suggested we do it after we drop off our coats. We get back to the car and he asks me if I really want my gift now. I said of course!
Now, I wasn't expecting a ring as he had it in a rectangular gift bag and there was no box shape to it whatsoever. I opened the gift bag and pulled out a chocolate box.
As soon as I saw the box I knew. I carefully opened it and saw the ring he and I had absolutely fallen in love in-between two chocolates.
At first I started laughing because in order for the ring to stay in place and not move around he put unopened pieces of gum by the two pieces of chocolate to hold it in place. This had Cass written all over it.
I loved it and was laughing at his ingenuity and then started crying and saying I thought he wasn't going to get this one and I couldn't believe he was asking!
We both started laughing and crying because of me and he starts telling me the gum story. I pulled out the ring; he took my hand and got down on one knee. (Cue Cass getting emotional and me falling in love all over again)
He said to me he knew he wanted to spend the rest of his life with me and loved me very much. He couldn't think of any one better and asked me to marry him, to which I said YES!!
We hugged, we cried, we kissed and then we laughed and I opened the sweetest card ever. My favorite part of the card is where he wrote, "Future Mrs. Bridges".
Cue the tears again.
After three years together it all felt so right and just clicked.
I'm so lucky to be marrying the man of my dreams and couldn’t ask for a better proposal.
