Im seriously thinking Vegas is the way to go for us. My FI and I were together 5 years ago, and things fell apart when I got pregnant. We seperated and I raised our Beautiful Twin girls for the first 4 years of their lives.
We had began working out our issues and finding that we truly love each other. Yes Its more than just because hes the father of my daughters. Sorry but I have been getting that alot lately. Anyways on a visitation he purposed to me and I accepted. The entire weekend I wore my ring. When I came back home I took it off because of my family.. Well I felt completely naked without it so I put it on and World war 3 happened because I have forgiven him for our past and decided to work things out. My family is starting to accept it because I told them I am old enough to make my decisions for myself and my daughters. and If they didnt like it they didnt have to be around us.
His Step mom and Father have requested to host our Reception.. We graciously accepted their request. His sister who is awesome with Cakes requested to make my cake.. I accepted as well..
His mother is something completely different.. she is critizing my choice for my dress.. Yes It is different, I cant see paying hundreds of dollars for a dress that I only wear once, so I found a dress that I can wear again for different occasions. It is black, and I even asked my FI what he thought about me wearing a black dress.. He said he liked the idea because our wedding and relationship is different than the "Norm".
HIs mother has informed me that I need to wear a cream or offwhite wedding dress.. My FI has told her its our wedding not hers.. But its causing issues in the family.
Would it be wrong to get married in Vegas and then have a reception at another time?
