Ring Resizing

There was a snafu at FI's jeweler when he ordered the ring and the jeweler mistook my ring size.  So after wearing it on my pinky for the past almost three weeks, it's getting sent 800 miles away (where FI used to live before he moved in with me) to get perfected. 

I swore up and down that I didn't need a ring, and now that it's not there my hand feels entirely NAKED!

Did anyone else have to have their ring resized?  How long did it take?  Did it feel like a reproposal when you got it back?

I didn't have mine resized, but I did have to leave it at the jewelry store for three days to get appraised.  I totally understand the naked hand feeling.  It was really nice to get it back.  Do keep in mind though, that most jewelry stores get super busy around the holidays and it might take them a little longer to get your ring done because of that Hope you get your ring back soon.

you can get a 'fake' ring to wear while your ring is away and that way your finger won't feel so naked.

My finger is naked until the wedding (we skipped the engagement ring).

However, sometimes I go into our safe and put in on my wedding ring (i.e. when I have a dream it did not fit, or just for fun!) and wear it for a few minutes......and let out a small sigh when I return it to its box, then to the safe.

I am super excited at the idea that the first time either of us will wear a ring on our wedding ring fingers (other than of course the trying them on!) will be on wedding day. For some reason I actually ENJOY my naked finger for that reason, weird.

Anyway, it might take a week or two or so to get your ring back if it had to be sent away. If it feels that naked, either maybe wear another of your rings or for fun why don't you wear some ostentatious $10 fake ring from Walmart (or something silly like a plastic frog ring) and have some fun with it

My ring had to be resized too!  Took a week and I missed it soooo much!  I also had to recently leave it at the jewelers to had my wedding band mold made and that only took 2 days!  Try the fake ring idea!

I had to have mine resized. My ring finger is a size 4.25 and my ring was a size 4.5. The extra .25 was irritating my finger (made it itchy and I had some sort of rash going on) So I had it resized. I left it at the jewlerrs for 3 days while it was resized and I took it as I'm letting my finger heal while it's away. I did feel naked but if I wanted to wear a ring I would have put my promis ring back on till it came in(it was better that I left it heal so I didn't) It'll feel much better when it's back

My boyfriend hasn't proposed yet but we went and picked out the ring and it had to be resized. She said it would be back by Dec 16 and he put a rush on it to get it back by Dec 14. I don't know when he is going to propose but the ring is so pretty I just want it to be in the apartment, even if I can't wear it until he proposes. 

He bought me a promise ring a year ago so my finger isn't naked but I am dying waiting on my new ring! lol!

omg you have the tiniest fingers!  cute!  my ring finger has been a size 7 since middle school- i've always had short stubby fingers lol.  i don't have a promise ring, and i've been doing a lot of work in the lab this week (wearing nitrile gloves) so i haven't been wearing anything on my left hand.  it still feels like some of my mojo is missing.  hopefully the ring should be on my proper finger by the end of this week!

I just got engaged this morning! I'm dreading for it to be taken away from me to be resized.  He told the jeweler my ring size (3.5), but the guy didn't believe him so they got a 4, and guess what? It's a half size too big! haha 

I will miss it! I hope it doesn't take too long.

also woohoo, we got word from the jeweler today that the ring is finished and i should have it back asap!  just in time for my mojo to come back for finals
