For those of you that can remember, I posted a few days ago saying FI and I hadn't told my parents yet because we were afraid they'd try to contribute financially even though they need to be paying off some bills instead. Well this weekend I sat down with my parents and let them know that Adam and I are getting married! Just as I thought they would, they offered money. Thankfully they didn't say "Whatever you want, we'll pay for it." They offered $5,000 but said that we shouldn't expect them to give it to us all at once. And whatever we don't use we can put towards a down payment on a house. Hopefully they'll have all of these hospital bills out of the way by then, or I hope they realize they need to get themselves out of debt first. I'm incredibly blessed and thankful that they want to help us out, but I do not want to see them go without something just to help me.
But yes, they're very excited about the wedding. My mom has already started coming up with ideas.
