Daniel told Liz he was going to Atlanta on a work trip two months ago and that she could come along. Three days before they were supposed to leave, he said she couldn't go.She was pretty upset. On saturday she went with his sister-in-law, Lacey, to have a girl's day and they got their nails done. Lacey told Liz they were going to the airport to pick up her friend before dinner. When Lacey and Liz pulled in the airport, Lacey handed Liz a note from Daniel with a boarding pass to Chicago. He'd planned out every detail and even packed her bags without her knowing. He gave Liz a number to call when she got to Chicago and it was his sister, Kelly, and brother-in-law, Matt, picking her up in his car. She was confused because he had been telling her that he was in Atlanta. She quickly realized that the Atlanta trip was just a ploy to get her to not plan anything for that weekend. Then they took Liz to meet Daniel and they spent the day walking around the city, going to Navy Pier, taking two water taxis, eating at this really cool restaurant on the river, then going to a grassy area near a planetarium. They randomly "found" (he planted it) a blanket and watched the sun set over the city. Then Daniel got on one knee and asked Liz to marry him! She said yes! They made phone calls and he made sure they stayed around long enough to watch the firework display that he knew was going to happen! It was the perfect proposal!
