My fiance and I just got engaged last weekend and I am already starting to feel nervous. We have been together for over 4 years, and have had a lot of ups and downs in our relationship. Our families have not yet met, and I have to say that I am very nervous for them too. My fiance was in foster care by the age of 11 and my mum was a foster parent to babies for 13 years. My fiance has always stayed in touch with his parents (who are seperated). Needless to say, I don't think my mum and his will have anything in common.
I am a very sensitive person, and in a crowd can usually sense the people who can't stand eachother. I am trying to make this experience as painless as possible for me, but I cant help but feel that this will end in a lot of tears for me.
Any suggestions as to how to introduce them?? small gathering of just women first??
