any other long engagements or long distance relationships??

well i looked on my wedding counter and exacally 1,000 days till i finally get to say i do my fiance proposed to me this may because he was going away for school and i was going to stay home and go to a local school. though we are only 2 hours from each other its still hard. espically because hes living it up in chicago and im stuck in a little ol' town surrounded by corn... we plan on having our wedding on june 14, 2014 and time cannot come fast enough!! i will be done with school and he will be halfway done. luckily all of his school is paid for because he is doing the ROTC program. but that means a career of air force after he gets his degree as an orthopedic surgeon... anyone else going though something similar?? its hard but will be sooo worth it in the end!!

I want to get married June 14, 2014 as well! my FI finally proposed this past weekend, we've been together for a little over 9 years so another couple years won't make a difference he has a full time job as a firefighter in DC and we live at home in  NJ he travels to work from home but it's difficult on him and I'm afraid he might want to bump the date since we aren't planning to move until after the wedding

My friends are telling me not to look into the wedding venues now but I would like to start sometime in the spring/summer to know that thats our wedding date and then the rest of the planning can begin

I'm in the middle of a long engagement. My fiance proposed this past August, and we're getting married in 2013, due to his brother getting married next summer. It's hard, because I'm in their wedding, and in a good friend's wedding next summer, so I am going through all this wedding stuff, without applying it to my own! I've got the bug, and am anxious to really start planning and dress shopping! But it is nice to get tips and stuff before ours, so we know what to do/not to do for our wedding!

My Fiance and I have been engaged since June of last year and have been apart ever since.  He is in the Navy currently stationed in Japan for the next two years.  We are getting married July 6, 2013.  We would have picked a sooner date, but I'm also in the military (Air Force) and I am getting deployed for six months at the end of this year.  It is very hard to have a long distance relationship.  Especially when he can't call and you can only Skype maybe once a week.  But it is so worth it in the end!  I am actually very excited right now because I just found out he will be coming home in ten days!  I will get to spend 3 weeks with him.  This will be the only time I see him until about a week before our wedding.  Being away from each other makes you appreciate the ammount of time you get to spend with that person.
