My fiance and I are still considering having an afternoon ceremony (2:30pm) that will last 15-30 minutes (hopefully closer to 15!). The reception would immediately follow in the same building.
I was wondering if it would be alright etiquette-wise to only serve cake, mints, nuts, and an assortment of beverages such as coffee, lemonade, water, and soda. Or should we go with a more "tea-time" feel and serve finger sandwiches, and other light items?
Our event has a really informal feel, and our budget is tiny. We are getting a very good cake, and could have multiple pieces per person because it's such a reasonable price.
Due to the time constraints of the possible venue, we have to be out by 6:30pm. We're inviting 100 guests. Should we serve something else? Ideas? Etiquette?
