Premarital classes?

Are you required to take premarital classes before you can get your marriage license? It looks like you can get a discount but I don't see anywhere that it is required. I think FI and I might take the classes anyways if we do get a discount but I have no clue where these classes are held. Do any of you ladies know where these classes are in Tallahassee? Have any of you been to one? TIA!

It is not required to take classes.  Some counties offer links to different couseling places.  Usually if they are not done by the person marrying you it costs a lot more than the discount.  There are a lot of different options out there though.  You might want to ask the person marrying you for suggestions too.

I believe there is a list on one of the state websites that will tell you who is qualified to do premarital counseling. It is not required but without it there is a three day waiting period from the time you get your liscense to the time you are allowed to get married. So you couldnt get the liscense without counseling on Friday and get married on Saturday. The last time that I looked the discount was like $30. I don't know if prices have changed though

No, it's not required.  Getting married counseling is probably going to more expensive than the discount, so dont' let the discount be the only reason you want to do it.
