Any White Room brides out there?

FI and I drove up to St Aug on Thursday and fell in love with the White Room! Anyone have any great (or not so great) experiences with them? I'd love to hear about it!

Thanks :)

I love the White Room, I was actually going to book with them before they broke my heart into pieces! I live in Orlando and set up an appointment to meet with the girls there that I had spoken to over email. When I get there I express my desire to book the White Room and not The Loft which is the upstairs. First of all, me and my fiance met up with someone whom I was not speaking to over email, so she had no idea what I was wanting, then second when we told her we wanted to book the White Room they had a pending contract which she knew no details about. She wasted my time breaking down prices and everything so that she could tell me I couldnt book it...yet. I waited 3 days (which is what you are given for a pending contract) and the other bride decided to change her date which opened up the date for me. The lady I originally was speaking to told me the great news! Then less then an hour later, the other lady that I actually met with in St. Augustine rained on my parade by telling me, that since she assumed the other bride would for sure book, she failed to tell me that I had to have a minimum of 150 guest to book the White Room! Worst experience ever! Then a month later, after I already booked in Casa Monica, this same lady emails me to tell me that she's been talking to her manager about the 150 limit and they have now thrown the rule out the window! I just couldnt believe it.

This is just my experience, a friend of ours had her wedding in the White Room (240 guests, which is the max you can have FYI) and she had a great experience with them. I wish I could say the same.

I'm so sorry to hear that you had such a bummer experience. I think I have already spoken to every employee there, too. Luckily for me though, they have all been knowledgable and very helpful. I ended up booking with them once my FI told me that out of everywhere we looked he could'nt get the White Room out of his head...

We didn't have to meet a minimum amount of people, just a minimum amount of $$. When is your wedding at Casa Monica? I love that hotel :) How funny that we both live in O-town and are planning St Augustine weddings!

    I'm getting married October 1, 2011.

My friend who got married in the White Room told me about the venue. And I just fell in love with it, forgot totally about Casa Monica, but they just so broke my heart when they told me all the bad news. But overall, the White Room is perfect, I LOVE that it has its own private balcony for your guest and the bar area is just beautiful!  I would have booked there too even after all the stress, but at Casa Monica the minimum is at least $4,000 less for the Flagler Ballroom which holds 110.

If you need any help just ask, I already booked my Photographer and will be having a consultation with florist and bakers next month. :D
