RSVP Date?

Within the next couple of weeks we will be sending out our invites. What should I put as an RSVP date? Everyone will be traveling from NY so I need to keep that in mind. Wedding is 10/31 of this year. Any suggestions?

When is your final head count due to the venue and caterer?  If it's one week before then make the RSVP date for three weeks before your wedding date.  This will give you time for the procrastinators to send in their reply (people will wait until the due date to send it back which may take 3-4 days to get to you).  A week past your date then start calling people to get their replies.

I think it is a little early to be sending out invites... Usually the earliest is 3 months before the wedding (And to most people that is pushing it).

I agree that I wouldn't send out your invitations more than 3 months before the wedding date.

Find out the date your caterer needs the head count (about a week before the wedding) and add 2-3 weeks to that for your RSVP deadline.  That gives you enough time to track down the rogue RSVPs.

I understand but again, my people are all traveling from NY. They will need to make plane, car and hotel reservations

Then you definitely don't need to send you invitations out any earlier than 3 months.  The know when the date is and they know they are invited since they got a save the date, so they can, if they haven't already, start making travel plans.

True. I didn't think of it that way. :)
