Finding the perfect dress

I'm so incredibly excited! I found my dress yesterday, and my mother got to be there with me when I had "the moment". You know the one...where you realize this is the perfect dress, and no other dress will ever be as good. So it made me wonder, how many of you had that moment? Did you know instantly that your dress was your dress?

I didn't -- but apparently my bridesmaid did, because she started crying the moment I put it on!  Don't get me wrong: I love my dress.  But it definitely didn't hit me like a bolt from the blue.  It kind of grew on me over time, and I stood in front of the mirror and swished the train around.

I will say, though, that the moment I chose the dress, all the other wedding and reception details that I couldn't quite picture in my head clicked into place.  I took that -- and my bridesmaid's tears! -- as a good sign.

Same here Celles.  I was dress shopping at Suzanne's and had about 10 dresses tried on.  Most were no-goes, but I had set aside 2 to try on again.  I tried on the 1st and knew that it just wasn't the one (mostly because I couldn't wait to try on what would become "the one" again).  When I tried on "the one" for the 2nd time- that's when I knew.  It was the perfect combination of what I was looking for, as well as a great price (the realist in me speaking).  Now am I absolutely in love with it and could stare at it for hours.

I also didn't have the moment where I knew it was the one.  However, I rarely have moments like that.  It was, however, the first dress on my list that I had found online and next to the style number I put one word - LOVE.  I tried it on first and my FMIL, sister and one of my bridesmaids loved it.  None of the other dresses that day seemed worthy.  Then, I went to a different shop and tried on a few more.  I found one that I really liked but a bridesmaid and another friend said they liked the original better.  When we went back to the original shop and I tried it on in the right color (diamond white), they said there was no comparison and that it was absolutely THE dress.  I bought it, but still bothered my sister for assurance (which I do often about the smallest things - I'm lucky she listens!).  I tried it on when it came in and I am SO in love!  I knew when I bought it that it was the one, but I'm always overanalyzing!

    ^^ This.

I didn't have that feeling from any of the dresses I tried on... I don't know.  I just think I'm not that emotional maybe?  *shrugs*

Although, since I just bought a third (hopefully LAST) dress... we'll see how I feel when it gets here and I put it on maybe.  LOL
The more and more I look at the pictures, the more I love it...  but that's not ON me yet, so we'll see.

I had the moment once the veil was on. My mom, sister, and I all cried. :)

Yeah  - no crying moment for me, but I'm very happy with the dress I picked and no regrets :)

I didn't have that moment either but I kept going back to the same dress. I got a killer deal on it which might have swayed my decision a little since i'm a bargain hunter. The one thing it didn't have that I wanted is a sweetheart neckline but the seamstress said she could change that. Although there was another one I tried on that my friend took pictures of that I'm almost regretting I didn't get. Its a tough decision!  I think you are always going to see other dresses you like but its about how you feel in it. It doesn't have to make you cry but you should love everything about it.

Lucky girl :). I didn't have that moment either, but am totally happy with my dress. It made my mom and dad cry and is super dance friendly, so that will suffice!
