Flower Question

Ok so how much should I typically spend on flowers? I kind of got a quote for 100 people $2,000-$3,000. Is that a lot. It was from Elizabthe Wray in Geneva.

We had 178 guests, flower centerpieces, and a huge family and WP and our flowers were waaaaay less expensive than that.  Email me at dizzyc1018 at yahoo if you need a more specific breakdown

I got quotes from quite a few different florists for 18 centerpieces and all personal flowers. Low end was $1800 high end was $3300. It really depends on what kind of flowers you are asking for and the elaborate-ness of the centerpieces. The personal flowers were all pretty much the same cost from each. But they gave you a $1000 differential which seems like a lot of variance to me. They should have been able to give you a better estimate to what your actual cost would be.

I'm making our centerpieces with a friend of mine w/o flowers. We're only having the BM's bouquets, my bouquet, GM + FI bouts, moms & dads flowers and we're paying way less than what you're paying for all of that. I have so much wiggle room in our floral budget we might do extra stuff for the ceremony, which I wasn't planning on. I wouldn't pay that much for flowers, but that just wouldn't fit into our budget. We booked with Duckie's florist and she's super great. Highly recommended.

Ours is about $3,000 for 25 table centerpieces, escort card table display, 18 pomanders for the pews, 3 FG pomanders, 1 boutinnaire, 5 wrist corsages, 7 BM bouquets and my bouquet.  That includes tax, set up and delivery at 3 places.  A Perfect Petal in Mt. Prospect. Like a PP said, it really depends on the flowers you choose, though.

What type of flowers do you want to use?  My florist was in a sw suburb (Orland Park) so it may have been cheaper than Chicago florists but for $1575 we got: my bouquet and toss bouquet, 5 BM bouquets, 10 bouts, 6 corsages, flowers to present to Virgin Mary, flowers to present to our mothers during the sign of peace, 12 centerpieces, and flowers on the cake/cake tableWe used lillies, orchids, ranunculus, roses, gerber daisies and some others - pro pics in married bio if you want to see all the types we used or what we got for that price.  But like pp said, they should be able to give a better estimate.

As pp stated, it can depend on your flowers, however, I visited Elizabeth Wray for a quote and it was about $3800.  I requested the same items at the florist I ended up going with and paid $2700.  One thing I didn't like about Elizabeth Wray is that they don't let you bring in your own items for decorations because they want their "brand" if yuo will on your event.  That's what I was told. I needed more flexibility than that, to save money.

I looked into Elizabeth Wray also for my Herrington wedding, and she wanted $5000+, which I think is outlandish.  I went with Anton at Town and Country Gardens and paid $3000 for the exact same thing.  He was absolutely fantastic (the owner of the shop), and my flowers were incredible.  He hand-crafted the flowers on my wedding arch complete with hanging crystals and hanging flower bowls, which was so impressive.  He also was really flexible and let me use any decorations I wanted.  LOVED him!

$2-3k is very reasonable. we are paying a lot more than that. but flowers are important to my family, mother in particular!
