Any ideas on flowers with a champagne colored bridal dress?

So, I totally had in mind what I was doing for flowers, and then I ended up getting a dress completely opposite than what I'd originally planned.  Instead of flow-y and grecian looking and white-- I bought a retro-y classy elegant silk Paloma Blanca dress in Champagne  (#4004).   Sooooo, I was originally going to do wildflowers with blue hydrangeas, but now I'm a little perplexed.  Obviously, that idea is now too casual.Any of you ladies have a champagne colored dress?  Any suggestions?  I was thinking maybe some calla lily's mixed in perhaps?  I'm just not into roses at all.... Otherwise, I'm open to thoughts. Can you still add white to the bouquet, or no?Thanks ladies!!!

Your dress is gorgeous! I think that white flowers against a champagne dress would really pop. I really love lilies for a bridal bouquet, they're just so classic and elegant.

I am wearing a champagne colored dress.  I'm doing a mix of roses in various shades of ivory, white stock and white cymbidium orchids.   I wanted something really classic looking, and I don't think it gets any more classic than roses.  I would describe my dress as updated retro.  It's the Enzoani Cheryl.  I hope this at least gives you some kind of idea.  I definitely think that mixing white in would be ok, but I also think that it's a personal choice.

I think it depends on the look and feel of your wedding overall as well as what your BM's are wearing...  any more info for us?

I love dusty pinks and creams with champagne.  Those were the colors of my wedding....even though I added in latte and browns as well.  My dress was Diamond White.  I got a lot of compliments on the overall look of our wedding, so I just wanted to give an example of how even if things aren't matchy, if you have a complimentary color palette it will look great. Good flowers to go with a classic/champagne theme (just my opinion): cream roses, cream and peachy/pink flower stock and ranunculus.  I really like the look of flower stock by itself, which is what my BM's had.  To get an idea of the pink I'm talking about, check out my bio "wedding photos" and see my bouquet under "details."I think any pink with champagne is pretty though, even hot pink if you want a more modern look.

Congrats on buyin your dress! It's beautiful! I also have a champagne colored Paloma dress (3608) and it's not easy to find the right flowers! The bridal shop had a fake cala lilly bouquet; when I held it up it totally clashed with my dress and didn't look good at all (granted, they were fake and who knows what it would really look like with real flowers or with your dress). My mom created a mockup bouquet out of fake flowers and used just a few cream flowers and mostly dusty pinks, sage greens, and a mocha ribbon and it looks stunning. We thought we should stay away from the whites cause they could clash easily with the color of the dress and decided to go with more colored flowers.  HTH

We're dress twins! And it's really funny because I also thought I would get a flowy beachy dress- especially since I'm having a destination wedding. But I fell in love with this dress as soon as I put it on (and saw the pockets!). Anyway, I agree with the sticking to ivory and dusty rose and avoiding white. I'm actually staying with the whole vintage retro theme of the dress. Since I'm doing a destination wedding, I'm doing a keepsake bouquet, here's a sample that it will look similar to. YAY!  Isn't it gorgeous??? Did you get the same color?  A bride that was in the store before me, bought the same dress too, but in Ivory.  Ah well, it's soo pretty on.  I just knew when I put the color on.I'm a little frustrated because I'm doing blue bridesmaids dresses, (kinda like The Knot homepage color) I haven't picked out dresses yet, but we decided on blue like 6 months ago.  So..... I'm thinking of a colorful bouquet myself, and I was thinking maybe some brighter pink flowers... Maybe mixed with bright blue hydrangeas... Really, I have no idea yet.... I'm going to meet with a florist next week and get more ideas.  Do you want me to let you know what her ideas are???  I love your idea though.  It's going to be gorgeous.  I was thinking of putting crystals in my bouquet too!!!!Where are you doing the destination wedding?  That's what I wanted but random people on both sides of the family threw a hissy fit.  :(Congrats on getting the prettiest dress ever!!! :)

Yes please do! I still haven't finalized my bouquet or decided on what to do for the bridal party so please let me know what the expert says! We're getting married in Montego Bay at the Iberostar Rose Hall Suites. My fiance wanted to elope and I wanted my friends and family there so this is our compromise. My dress should come in this month (I bought it at the end of April) so now it's really starting to feel closer!

Tmilhomme, So I met with the florist, and the ideas thrown around were orchids (some green, perhaps a dash of fuschia) some antique hydrangeas, and some calla lilies perhaps with some funky greenery, yet elegant looking mixed in...(I'm doing a medium blue bridesmaids dress, so we were trying to somewhat match)(oh, and I didn't want roses, so that's what we came up with)So, if you're doing destination, you could totally do orchids and stuff!!!  And I found out my fiance is supposed to match me, which apparently I'm clueless about...So, I had to tell him the color of my dress.. Oh, well, he just gave me a blank look.  :)

I am wearing the same dress too--my wedding is next weekend!!  Like the other dress twin mentioned, i am keeping the antique vintage feel in the flowers as well--sticking with shades of ivory, creams, beige....just real soft so it is the dress that people see, not the flowers.  I dont think you have to worry about matching your flowers to the girls dresses...my girls are wearing gold and black, and holding deep autumn toned flowers.  I using my grandmother brooch as well in mine.  I happen to love roses, so it is all large garden roses for me (we all have our tastes, i am not a big callie lily fan myself!)  It also depends what time of year you are getting married.  Peonies would look lovely too. Very romantic and delicate. One note that caused me a moment of confusion with the dress--we ended up with white shirts for guys tuxes....the tux store recommended ivory but anyone i knew in the fashion and photography wedding business said no--stick with white, you wont notice in the pics and it will look more noticable that they guys have on dirty looking shirts.

Hi Stef,I hope you don't mind me asking, but last time we chatted (after I called you Tonya! :-) ) you were looking to finalize a florist.  Did you end up with art miller?  If so, how was the meeting and were they are reasonable as you had hoped?  Any info on them would be greatly appreciated!! Thank you!Jenn

Yea, I did end up going with them.  I liked the fact that she came to my place for the meeting and is letting me meet up with her this winter to go to where she buys her flowers and I'm picking out everything I want.  That way, she can write down the names of exactly what I like, and the price doesn't change.  That's pretty cool.  :)And they are super reasonable.  Tentatively, we're doing my bouquet with orchids, hydrangeas, and maybe calla lilys.  Under $100 for that...I can go into more specifics and give you my breakdown if you want  :)   my email is stefaye23 at yahoo.com  --if anything, it's at least worth looking into.  I got all my estimates from her by email first... And, actually, when I met her--the final pricing was even less.  Go figure.  So, they'd definitely be great to keep in mind.
