    - Where did you order your flowers? We ordered 6,000 Rose petals from Fiftyflowers.com - What did you do when you received them? We stored them in a cool and dry place - How many days before the wedding were they delivered? 2 days before - How many days before the wedding did you arrange them? The arranging was on the day of the wedding - Did you find this difficult? No. I had 4 friends that I put in charge of the setting the centerpieces. The venue allowed the team to come in for set up at 10am. I gave very detailed directions but the centerpieces weren't that difficult. - On a scale of 1-10 (10 being best) would you recommend doing this? 10. We did centerpieces that weren't difficult to put together. I think if it were more complicated, then I would leave it up to the pros. DIY route was great for us, because the overall effect looked nice, didn't cost us an arm and a leg, and easy to put together.

Hey.  Just a thought.  I was gonna do my own... but I talked to a florist, who offered to do orchids or whatever... for only $35-$40 each centerpiece, and we can keep the vases.  She's soooo reasonable.  If you second guess doin it urself... shoot me an email.. :)  stefaye23 at yahoo.com

Thanks Stef - I priced out the vases from Crate & Barrell and it will cost about $140 to purchase them outright - and I will just resell them on the boards afterwards. I have seen the cylinder jars with both rose petals and the orchids and more than likely I will go with the rose petals only because I can order 12,000 rose petals from fiftyflowers.com for $180. That's dirt cheap. Also, my reception site told me that since I'm getting married on a Friday, typically they aren't booked the Weds/Thursday prior so I can go in on Wednesday and/or Thursday to setup stuff the way I want it; that being said, I would just go in...put the vases on the tables (along with anything else I wanted to arrange myself) and ask them if, on the day of the wedding they would mind adding some of the rose petals to each jar, fill then up with water, place the candle in the vase and light it. And, if this isn't something they would do, I will definitely ask one of my very, very creative friends to help me out. And I know she would. Just my thoughts for right now...still tossing ideas around!
