In the news: Interracial couple denied marriage license

Hi Knotties, At The Knot offices, we're all discussing the story about the interracial couple who was denied a marriage license. If you haven't heard the story, read it here: http://tinyurl.com/8jky8g What we're really curious about is whether or not discrimination is more common in wedding planning than we thought. Have you or anyone you know faced discrimination (racial, gender, budget, etc.) while planning your wedding? Click on the link below to take our poll. http://tinyurl.com/yfacur9

louisiana is "home" to us and I can say when we were planning, we never experienced this, in Chicago or Louisiana. It is unfortunate because now I am worried that all the good people in Louisiana are going to get a racist reputation and we are some of the friendliest people in the country. I hope this man loses his license to marry people.

So far, so good. I really hope we don't run into an *%^$##^*& like this. We are both from the mid-west living close to "the south." We find that the mid-west is much more excepting of interracial couples that here.
