We just got back from our honeymoon, and miss Italy and France already. Anyway here are our vendor's reviews. Most were awesome and a couple let us down. But overall an awesome time. Pics won't be up until another 3 weeks. Ceremony/Reception Site: Cantigny A+++I can't say enough about this place. The staff was wonderful, even though we had to have the ceremony inside due to rain that day everything was beautiful. Everyone raved about the food and oh my the cake was superb. The chicken in my opinion was a little salty but other than that, WOW! I kept getting compliments from everyone how they have never been to such a beautiful place. I can't wait to see our pics. DJ: Platinum Star DJ C-I wish I could give a better grade as I was really impressed when we met him. We didn't want to spend a lot on the DJ and he does the Djing on the side and that should have created a red flag, but meeting him and his wife we felt very comfortable. He even called a couple days prior to make sure everything was set and we were on the same page. However when it came to the day, sure he played all the songs I wanted, but the sound system was lacking and he was not involved in the wedding at all. You couldn't hear him and instead of being by the tables he was talking to someone he knew at the wedding. He mispronounced names and messed up on the introduction. Also didn't like the fact that the mother/son song kept cutting out so my DH and his mom thought it was over. He did play the electric slide song when we told him not to, however I let that go, because it obviously got everyone on the dance floor. I just wish he could have lived up to my expectations. Though when you see pics we were all having a good time anyway. Bouquets and Ceremony flowers: Floressence A++++I am soooo happy I finally caved and instead of DIY bouquets and ceremony flowers I went with my friend's gf who also has her own floral business on the side. She went above and beyond with our bouquets and bouts. She delivered them herself and they came looking so crisp and beautiful. She was truly reasonable and I couldn't be happier. She also got to enjoy the wedding as a guest. Limo: Select and Royale Limo B The original pick up was fine, we actually made the driver wait about an hour as we were still taking pictures so he came in and my mom fed him. The limo held just the girls, it had a bottle of good champagne and we had a great time on the way to the site. However the limo never showed up to pick DH and I up from the site to the hotel. The guy left me a message saying there was some trouble so when I called back at 12:30 he said that he was leaving at that time. I told him to forget it. Since I gave them a check originally for the two pick ups, I called today and am getting a refund on the cancelled pick up. Not sure why the limo never came, but at least they were very good with taking care of everything.Photographer: Jennifer Wiley from George Street Photographry A+++++I am only basing this grade on Jennifer herself and from what i saw in her portfolio. She was super awesome and handled everything so well. She was very attentive got all my "must takes". Luckily it stopped raining when we arrived at the site and we got to take our pics outside. Though it was a bit wet and cold DH and I and everyone else had a wonderful time taking pics with her. She got so excited and into the pictures it made us want to take more. She told us we were an awesome couple to work with since I guess I didn't care too much about getting dirty, I just want to capture some of the great moments and areas of the place. I wish we could have covered all the grounds, but it was really cold after awhile. I am sure that grade will stay once I see the pics. Hair: my friend A+++++Even though I really can't recommend her since she works at Hair Cuttery in Dekalb she did an OUTSTANDING job on my extensions and hair. We actually met several times before to get the color of my hair right and match the extensions to the color. She even had to sew the clips in. I knew I didn't have to worry about anything when it was in her hands. Make-up: Kayla from Estee Lauder A++++I met Kayla at an Estee Lauder counter and when she did my trial I asked if she could do my wedding. She had no problem since she actually lives in the same area where my parents live and where I was getting ready at. I absolutely loved the colors and the make-up stayed on ALL night, only once did I have to re-apply the lipstick. Officiant: Reverend Vito Anthony AHe did a wonderful job and was very involved with the wedding. He also made a really nice prayer and moment of silence for family members that have passed on. We were very pleased. Ceremony decorations, centerpieces: DIY well my SIL's mother made all the centerpieces including the beautiful one for the head table. Again very very pleased. I will try and put pics from family members on my bio before the pro pics are ready. Please let me know if you have any questions. TIA
