Etsy Alchemy is the greatest...

I heard about it from someone on this board and I just tried it out today - Requested someone to design a Save the Date postcard - in like an hour I got 10 bids from incredibly talented designers. Awesome!! Whoever recommended it- thank you!!

I posted a comment about etsy's alchemy feature a while back. Maybe it was me. I wanted someone to create my photobooth guestbook/album and got a ton of bids right away. Isn't an awesome?! I'm glad it worked for you.

Instructions:At etsy.com click on the custom tab at the top.  Read the overview and rules and a couple requests that others have submitted, just to get an idea. When you're ready, click on the Add New Request tab.  Fill out the form and describe what you want, materials, name your price.I also attached photos of things similar to what I was looking for.  You should see some offers within the day pretty much and you can decline offers, speak with bidders to modify offers, etc.  It is very neat!

I am with you there - it does rock!  I got the suggestion from another bride, and am currently having an awesome graphic designer design our wedding suite - and then bringing the design to a local letterpress company.  So much cheaper than going through an invitation place, which will charge 4 to 5 times more!

I agree I really love it. I just want to warn fellow Knotties to re-consider doing work with Croska on etsy.com.She (Ivana) responded to my alchemy request for feather bouquets back in March. Her reviews were great and she was always emailing to collect ideas and ask questions. I thought this would be perfect. I went ahead and sent her an intial deposit of $25. When I received pictures about a month later, the bouquet she created was wrong. We went over various details again and she assured me she understood my vision. I then sent her a $314 deposit in the first week of May (I know I'm kicking myself about that). Ivana then went MIA. After numerous emails, many of which went unanswered, I finally heard from her on August 10th. In that email, she sent pictures of the bouquet which was virtually identical to the first bouquet she made (totally wrong). At that point, I asked for a refund of my deposit less the cost of materials. Once again she went MIA. I now have no bouquets and no money. I am disputing the charge with my bank since PayPal won't dispute charges over 45 days. I really like etsy, but beware of what you're getting into.
