Day-of-Coordinator

I just started to consider hiring a d-o-c. I was wondering if it's worth it and who you are using. Thanks in advance!

For me, it was worth every penny. I used Amanda with Ladi Events.  Full review in vendor reviews.

Totally worth it! My sister did not have one at hers and although we thought we could handle everything the day of, we could not. Remember, you & your family are going to want to talk to the guests and it's so hard to break away to make sure things are going as they should. I'm going to find one for our wedding to take pressure off me, the bridal party, & my parents.

Best investment I made in my wedding. I wanted a stress free day where I knew everything would go smoothly, but not require me to constantly be pulled away. My coordinator handled all the details leading up to the wedding and on the wedding...she actually did way more than I contracted her for! I would highly recommend putting some money towards a DOC. I used Simply Perfect by Melissa and, again, loved her! She was not the lowest priced DOC and she was not the highest...but I Think the money I spent on her was worth every penny!!

I am using Anthony Navarro with Liven It Up Events.  Highly highly highly recommend him - he is extremely responsive and really cares about your wedding & vision.  His rates are reasonable and from all of my dealings with him, he has always put me at ease when some "drama" starts coming up!  I feel like I have a full time wedding coordinator instead of a DOC.  Good luck!

We're using one full time (An Affair to Remember) but definitely would recommend someone for day of. So many people I've chatted with say it's worth it!

We're working with Elisabeth from Anticipation Events. She's been great so far - I'm definitely feeling less stressed! I'll be posting detailed reviews once we get through the day, but if you want her info, you can find it at...http://www.anticipationevents.com/

Absolutely worth it! I always say it's the best money I spent for my sanity! I met with a lot of coordinators and ended up hiring the owner of Shannon Gail Weddings and Events (www.shannongail.com). Feel free to email me if you'd like some info on everyone I met with! I'd be more than willing to save you some time! I have nothing to do now that my wedding is over!! Haha! marianne bride at yahoo dot com

i do remember TheMorrisseys noting that she didn't think it was necessary, and I have found her advice to be very useful. I think for some people a DOC is helpful, but for others with family members who are organized and would love the task of holding useful numbers, photo lists, and other things together, and makign sure they pick up the extra unused favors, escort cards and centerpieces and handing out tips, you might be able to save yourself a grand.
