Chicago restaurant/banquet hall reception ideas. Greek town? La Alhambra Palace?

Hi,We're looking for ideas for a restaurant reception that would have room for dancing too.  We don't have a huge budget for a hotel reception room but are sstill trying to keep our reception in the city. So far we've seen Maggianos & the Galleria Marchetti, which we like. Does anyone have experience with Greek town restaurants or the Alhambra Palace on west randolph?thanks.

Galleria Marchetti has a higher min than some hotels just an fyi...i know quartino does weddings, Green dolphin street, something recently posted about Zed451

Have you looked into Salvatore's?  We considered going there before we decided on a DW.

We're having ours at Salvatore's and found that they had packages that were cheaper than hotels and I think it is much nicer than a banquet hall. I think they are the best value for the location in the city. And it is beautiful. It is more than the suburbs, but less than most city places we checked.

Have you checked out Fulton's on the River? I hear it's beautiful but have never visited it.

We are having our reception at Carnivale! Their pricing is pretty good and their catering manager has been quick to get back to me about things.

I've been doing the exact same thing- if you want to PM me your email and I can give you a break down. I have info on all of the mentioned above and many more! It's amazing- all have minimums, some range from $4k-$23K. I've been amazed what some of the stipulations are!

I'm checking out Rosewood Restaurant Banquets in Rosemont this weekend..I've heard great things about their service and food. Worth checking into..
