There have been posts in the past relating to having a wedding at the Park District; from what I remember, they do not accommodate a lot of guests. You have to supply security for the entire evening. Parking can sometimes be a hassle. As far as weather goes, my wedding is two weeks before yours (June 18th) and I'm praying that next June is nothing like this past June...worst month ever!Good luck with whatever you choose, but I agree with your friend - you really need to start planning!!! :)

You would have to find a place that has a back-up indoor space that they reserve for you. Otherwise, a tent can be put up if they allow that, but I know those are pretty expensive and don't really do much to shield from rain or wind. Either way, you should definitely figure out your bad-weather alternatives before booking a site. You don't want to be freaking out the day before your wedding if they are calling for storms and you have no plan B. Are you just having the ceremony outside or both the ceremony and the reception outside?

I know nothing about the park district, but I do know the weather has been crazy in chicago the last few years. I moved here from the Detroit area about 3 years ago and I can't believe how crazy the weather is. I feel like all it does is rain or snow!! But I would agree with PP. You should find an a place that has an indoor alternative or get a tent. You just never know. I'm having an April wedding and I want my pictures outside but I'm very nervous that the ground will be all muddy so I'm looking into an indoor place as a back-up. Always have a backup!!

Well, you cannot guarentee weather in Chicago in any month. My wedding was June 26th 2009. I wanted my wedding in the summer, but not in the heat of July/August. BUT, the week of my wedding was the ONLY week this summer that was 90+ degrees! If you want to get married outside, I would suggest making sure there is a covered space and shade option if its rainy or too hot.

I definitely would have a backup plan. When I was thinking about outdoor vs indoor and what month I figured...I didn't want the hassle of having to have 2 plans, rain and no rain. Also, in Chicago...there is no way to know what the weather will be like. It could be 70 in November (like this weekend!) or 45 and rainy in June (like this year!) haha, so I settled for indoor:) It could be 80 or 40 in April so I will be ready for whatever, haha.

My wedding is June 26th too!!!  I think that is my biggest fear, even though i am having an indoor wedding.  People always tell me it doesn't even matter in the end, you are so oblivious to the rain!  But yah if I was having an outdoor wedding and it rained, I'd be very sad!  So like everyone said, definetly have a backup! :)  Congrats!! Have fun planning! :)
