Rehearsal Dinner Ideas???

Hi Everyone,I'm trying to come up with economical ways to do the rehersal dinner. Does anyone have an idea for a venue in downtown Chicago that won't charge me $40+ a head?

We did a "pizza party" at Bella Bacinos on Wacker. They have a section downstairs that we reserved to ourselves. Instead of paying per person, we just ordered a bunch of pizzas, salad and cookies from the menu. I would recommend them, although not highly recommend. They have a bar upstairs where guests could get drinks (we didn't pay for them) and they were EXTREMELY slow. The only other problem we had was that we ran out of pizza and they had to make more which took a little while. That was our fault though, because we basically did an open house for all of our guests and we under-estimated how many people would show up right at the beginning. The pizza was fantastic and the price was really good. It would definitely be easier if you know how many people are coming and at what time. We ended up spending about $1200 and I'd guess we probably had 100+ people.

My FI and I are hosting the RD in the fellowship hall of the church where we will get married.  It has a kitchen facility and saves travel time to a restaurant after the rehearsal.  We hired a local caterer (Corky's Catering does meals at $15pp).

If you like Greek food, the Parthenon is great.  I think their family style starts at $19.95 - doesn't include alcohol though.  Oh and free valet is a plus!

(I also posted this on the board where you originally made your post, sorry for the repeat)We did ours at Gino's East.....same as the earlier post, just ordered a bunch pf pizzas & salad, and our service was great.  We also got a few bottles of wine and pitchers of beer, (of course, not necessary) and anyone who wanted liquor was on their own at the bar.  Also, if you have a lot of OOT people that will be there, its a great way to give them a little taste of fabulous Chicago pizza! :)

Thanks for the ideas, ladies.  I think we might actually go the pizza route.  No need to spend $200/head one night and another $50 the night before.
