Veils - where did you buy yours?

I fell in love with one at Demetrios - it was cathedral length and had a waterfall effect.  It was $200 plus alterations (it was super long).I'm not sure if this is the norm for veils, but I just figured I'd ask you all where you got your veils and if they were about the same price as that...or if you have suggestions on stores, that'll be great too :)

I actually got a 2 tier chapel-length veil from valuveil.com for $14.99...but I'm probably in the norm. I'm only wearing it for our 20 minute ceremony, and it actually looks nice.  I don't have a pic of it on me, but will be sure to AW my wedding pics in January.

I recommend The Left Bank in Lincoln Park.  It's located at Webster and Racine.  When I was there Beth helped me out and she was so nice and helpful.

I also got my veil from Occansey. I definitely recommend them. There was a veil I really liked that was $700(!!) at Belle Vie and I made my veil from occansey to the same specifications for about $100. It was a cathedral length, cascade cut with satin edging.

I ordered from www.veilshop.com because this online store allows you to return for a full refund if you are not having something custom made. I was able to order 4 different veils so I could try out the style and length and then returned the ones that didn't work. Great customer service as well.

thanks guys :)  i'll check out the stores and the online sites! mandybear7 - yeah, the veil I tried on was ridiculously long and they said they could shorten it for a fee.  apparently also, you can bustle a veil - that is definitely new to me!

I made mine for less than $15.  It's a cathedral length oval veil with a plain edge.  I thought about adding lace to it, which would have cost another $45, but I like the clean look of the plain edge.  It's really not too hard to do.  Good luck though.
