I need a Church in Chicago!

I recently got engaged and am planning a Friday, June 11th wedding. I am desperately looking for a nice church that is NOT Catholic, anything else will work! I grew up Presbyterian but will be fine with any type of Church. I've called around and am not finding any luck with places that do Friday weddings or do not charge an arm and a leg. Can you give me suggestions and contacts? THANKS!

I don't know what you're price range is but we're getting married at the First United Methodist Church at the Chicago Temple which is downtown on Washington across from the Daley Plaza. Carol E. is the coordinator there. It's a really pretty church and is large (I don't know what your numbers are) and we're getting married on a Friday so I know they do Fridays. Hope this helps!

I heard the University of Chicago's 'Rockefeller Chapel' is gorgeous!! I'd do it there if I were having a city wedding. Just a thought.

Hey I don't know if this will be repetative in a bit but I think my last post got lost in the shuffle while the new boards where posting. I think you had asked how much FUMC is and who the contact is there. It's $2000 and that includes pastor fee, pre marital classes, organist and everything/everyone else for the ceremony. The contact there is Carol E. she is very helpful. It comfortable fits 200 on the lower level so it's a big church but won't look like you have no guests as there is also an upper level where more can be seated. Hope this helps!

I got married at the chapel at Trinity International (in Deerfield). They were VERY accomodating. we even worked with them to have our rehearsal dinner there for a very reasonable price so that guests wouldn't have to leave the area. The only thing is that we used our own pastor, so if you needed someone to officiate from there, I'm not sure how it would work... but I'm sure it wouldn't hurt to ask.

Another church we looked at (that my friend got married at) was kingswood united methodist church on dundee road in arlington heights. They were also really accomodating and very willing to officiate for non-members (but you have to do premarital with them I think). Their price was pretty good too, in my opinion.  I hope that helps!
