Has anyone had Sounds Abound Entertainment for a dj? Thoughts?

I have heard of them but their prices were a bit too high for us.  My sister got married in 2008 and used Windy City Mix.  I will use them as well for my wedding.  They are very affordable and very professional and friendly and above all, were very experienced and did a great job for my sister!  They are having an all inclusive sale now for only $550 with EVERYTHING included...you should check them out and take advantage if you can.  Here's their info www.windycitymix.com 773-633-5884 Good luck and best wishes!!!

We are using Sounds Abound for our ceremony and reception.  (It's an outdoor ceremony held at the same location as our reception.)  Of the last 5 of my friends to get married, they've ALL used them.  These guys are awesome and really know how to read the crowd and adjut their playlist accordingly.  The thing I really like about them is their on-line planning site.  It allows us to pay as we go, to avoid having one big check to stroke on the wedding day.  They also have a song list planning page that allows you to select "must plays" and "do not plays".  If you use them, they also give you a discount on all their inventory at their wedding store (it's all the stuff in their office... invitaions, cake toppers, guest books, etc).  I didn't even bother looking at other DJ vendors, I just went with them based on previous experience. 
Good luck, although if you use them, you won't need it!

Totally agree with everything that Michelle said! We are using them for our wedding next summer and everything has been really great so far! I loved that I could look at actual videos of all of the DJ's at weddings to get an idea of their personalities to have an idea of who we wanted before going in to book with them!

We're using Sounds Abound too - I have seen our particular DJ (Mark Van Deventer) at two other weddings and liked him, so I booked him in particular.

We used them for our ceremony, reception and as videographers and were awesome.  We worked with Ken and even though we're in the city, he drove in twice just to meet with us to go over details.  Great service and the video turned out great!
