Wedding Gift to Groom HELP!

Hey ladies!

I could strangle my FI. We have talked all along about not getting each other wedding gifts, as we're paying for the majority of the wedding ourselves, and what better gift could we give besides the rest of our lives together. Now all of a sudden he's come up with some brilliant idea for a gift for me and will give it to me the day of our wedding... which is in 24 days. So, now I need to come up with something for him!

No interest in or time for boudoir albums and he could care less about a watch. Knowing him, he's giving me something incredibly thoughtful and sentimental and I would do the same for him.

What are you guys planning to do? Have you heard of any good ideas?

Like I'm not stressed enough already......grrrrrr

Maybe you could go for a couples massage as your gift to him. another thought might be to get him something that relates to something you both love together, for example if you both love going to cubs games, maybe you can get him something baseball related. While for womens gifts it seems easy to come up with something sentimental and sweet like jewelry, a frame picture, or flowers, its harder to get guys a romantic gift I think. I also think as much as they want to get us sentimental gifts, they don't care for them nearly as much.

I like pp's suggestion of a couples massage. I would suggest something that he likes to do...like a hobby or something that he's interested in.

Ooh, that massage idea is great! AND you get to enjoy it too. :)

Are there any activities that he might like such as tickets to a concert, maybe tickets to a sports game for him to attend with the best man?

My friend ordered custom cufflinks from etsy for her DH. They were mini video game controllers-so cute!

i actually pulled this on my fiance, but we still have 7 months to go so i at least gave the man some notice.  we are getting married at the rookery building and we both work for CME group which owns the CBOT building.  well, i found this beautiful print of lasalle street with both the CBOT building and the rookery in it.  I started crying when i saw it, so i figured i should probably buy it.  it wasn't incredibly expensive and we both get to benefit from it.  maybe buy him something like that? could even be like a skyline picture of have your photographer do a picture of your reception hall and blow it up (obviously prior to your big day)

    good luck!!!

I am getting him White Sox cufflinks (he loves baseball as he has played for the past 25 years).  Also, he wants a remote start for his new car.

Thanks for all the suggestion ladies! Very helpful in getting my brain going!

I like the couples massage, but that would definitely be more of a gift to me than for him since he's terrified of getting a massage! heizer - I love yours! Something like that is exactly what I was thinking about.

We both love to cook and dream of opening our own restaurant one day - he even has a name and concept picked out! So I found an Etsy seller who is custom making a metal sign with the restaurant name and logo that we can hang in our kitchen. I'm also going to get him one of the expensive and really nice chef's knives he really wants and I'll write a little note like "To starting our dreams together." He's a total sentimental sap (way more than I am!) and I know he'll really think it's special :) Whew!

Great idea.  And thanks for asking the question.  I'm having the same problem.  And my FI is one of those guys who has everything: watches, cufflinks, artwork, iPod, portable DVD player, etc.  I am truly at a loss for a gift idea, just for him.  I just don't know what to do and we marry in 24 days.  Help!

I do like the idea of an event of some sort to do together (ie the massage, a concert, a sporting event, etc). Would he be interested in anything like that berry?

I just started thinking about his interests and passions and started brainstorming off of that. Let us know what you decide!

And you must be getting married the day after me!!! Are you totally stressed yet? :)
