Venue Help (Chicago)- Hotels ok?

Our wedding is next Sept and I still haven't chosen a venue! So frustrated as I live in Phx, but the wedding is in Chicago.  I've found a wonderful place for the reception, but it doesnt look like I can have the wedding there unless we have it outside. I dont have a problem with that, but the weather is so unpredictable in Chicago for Sept.  Being wed in a church isnt an option, so now I'm looking into hotels so the wedding/reception can be in one place. I cant afford much, but if anyone has gotten married in a hotel conference room, please help provide some insight or a different approach to having the wedding in a place that isnt a church and wont cost too much.  Guest list is 200.

Do you have any preferences about city vs. suburbs?  Any particular suburb in mind?  I live in the southwest burbs (Lemont) and looked at a lot of places around here.. especially Naperville area.  I can advice you about those places specifically if you are interested : )

We got married in a church but had our reception at the Embassy Suites Lakefront (near Navy Pier). It's one of the most affordable hotel options in the city.  Pics and reviews in Married bio.

    Thanks for the info.
PharmacyBride- Lemont is a little far as everyone is in the city, and most will not have transportation that far out of the city.  Did you do any research for hotels in the city?
70's Pop- How long did you reserve yours for?  How many guests?  Do you mind sharing the price paid?  Did they provide the food and decor as well?

I don't know what your budget is, but we just got married Sept 18th at the Hyatt Regency Ohare and I had to plan from California. It was the BEST experience ever! I couldn't stop getting compliments on how beautiful the hotel and hall were. And its not as pricey as the hotels downtown since its in the outskirts, but just as nice, and close enough so that your out of town guests can commute to the city for sightseeing.
Amy Dresser was my contact there.
