Hair & Make-up for wedding party? What's the deal?

I'd definitely love to have my hair and make-up done on my wedding day.

But my question is what is the ediquette regarding the bridemaids?

If I get mine done, must they have theirs done as well?  Do I pay for it all, or split it amongst all of us?  Do I give them the option?

I'm trying to be on a bit of a tight budget on this, hence why I'm not sure how this would work out.  Any thoughts are welcome!

I think its all what you feel like doing.

I am letting my girls wear their hair how they want and get their make up done... if they want.  They are more than welcome to use the makeup artist and hair dresser that I am using (at their own expense) and if they want to do something else, that is fine by me.

I'm paying for myself and my MOH, but it's just the 2 of us in the wedding party anyway, so that was easy.  The same person will do both hair and makeup for both of us and she'll meet us at my house that morning.

I'm getting my hair and makeup done and my regular salon and I left it up to my girls if they want to get hair or makeup done but the cost is on them if they do. I'm not "requiring" it.

I'm getting my hair down at my regular salong.  My mom, FMIL and MOH are going to go with.  The MUA is coming to the hotel and I am paying for them to also do FMIL and my mom's.  The BMs are on their own for what they want to do.

If you require your BMs to have their hair and makeup professionally done, then you should pay for it.

I just told my BMs that they could wear their hair in whatever style they would like and that they don't have to have it professionally done.  My mom and sister/MOH are coming with me to the salon and getting their hair done at the same time.

I'm having my hair and make up done at my regular salon. I'm going to leave it up to my BM's on if they want their hair and make up done.  I've had friends who have paid for BM hair and make up in the past and I might do one or the other, but I haven't decided yet.

sort of related but not--it's expensive! I reallt wanted one of the MUA that have been mentioned on this board often, but I just can't justify paying over $100 for make up only

Everyone, even the flower girl and my jr bridesmaids, went to the salon together for their hair and make-up..I was a real bridezilla about it, but I did give them gift certificates to pay for about half of the cost.  It was so much fun...
