Hey there!  I've been so busy and I spaced on PM'ing you about Maui.  What were your concerns about the Hyatt?  I can't say enough good things about it!  Let me know if you need any info at all about it :)

Hi!!!!!!  I'm so glad to hear it was amazing!   Now I'm really excited - we leave in one month and one day!  I'm glad to hear the hotel was great - Did you eat at the restaurants there?  Any that you would stay away from?  We heard we should take the Road to Hana and see the sunrise at Halekala (sp??) crater.  Recommend anything else? Thanks :)

We did eat at the restaurants there, the main one was under construction ( I don't know the name of it but it overlooks the pool) I think it will be done by that time though.  We had a honeymoon package where breakfast was included every day, and you could choose between the other two restaurants for breakfast, both were buffet breakfast and both were very good...Swan Court and Umalu.  We didn't eat at Umalu for dinner, just breakfast and lunch - their servings are huge so we learned fast to share a meal there.  We also did not eat at Swan Court for dinner because we heard that it was overpriced for the quality of the food.

OMG, we did both the Road to Hana and the sunrise at Haleakala crater and I would HIGHLY recommend both!!!  The Road to Hana makes for a long day but it is 100% worth it.  I would recommend taking a tour bus for that one because we did, and I can't imagine that you'd be able to see everything if you drive it yourself.  I don't know if you've heard this but a good tip is to do Haleakala the first morning you are there because you won't be used to the 5 hr time change yet...so waking up at 2:30 will be like waking up at 7:30 here.  Although, we slept thru our alarm and didn't make it the first day :)

The only other big event we did was snorkeling.  I absolutely loved it, but after going, and after hearing other people's suggestions while we were there, I think I would have rented snorkel gear and went on our own.  Supposedly the best place to snorkel (this coming from the locals) is a place called Honalua Bay and if you decide you want to go on your own-just ask the concierge desk and they'll give you a map :)  BUT, if you are interested in snorkeling and have never done it, I guess it would be good to start with a snorkeling tour :)  I was deathly afraid of it but as soon as I got in the water and put peeked under to see the fish - I was FINE!  So much fun :)

One good restaurant that we ate at was called Lailanis's, and it is just down the beachwalk at Whaler's Village - very good steak :)  OMG I am getting so excited just from talking about it.  You will have a great time, no doubt about it!!  It is truly amazing :)
