Love is Bald

Just wanted to see how your plans were coming along since we have the same reception site a week apart from eachother!  Have you made any specific plans with them yet? food?

I plan on going there within the month to look at their linen choices and what type of rentals they have.  I also plan on making a monogram aisle runner so I need to ask questions about that too.  FI and I are also doing a balloon release after the ceremony.. its an idea to think about as well.  Also.. i know your getting married at the church and I'm doing the ceremony in the lawn and gardens.. but have you looked into ceremony musicians.  I figured we could bounce ideas back and forth :)

Hey girl! I'm so happy I have a venue twin :) I didnt know you were getting married on the lawn, its so gorgeous! We just went and visited the Estate on Sunday (when no one was there) and it was the first time I saw the pergula (or however you spell it) and its truly breathtaking, they really did a good job on it! My mom is flying in Nov 2 and we are going to to the Mansion to get more details on the 3rd or 4th, especially about rentals! I am working with Amanda. I emailed her the other day to ask about how long I need rge aisle runner for for the church (100 feet) so make sure you find out how long you'll need for the lawn! As for ceremony music, I booked a string quartet called European String Quartet. This, for me, was the only wedding related thing I refused to budge on. I went on gigmasters.com and posted my event details and let all the performers bud on my event. I liked this because I was able to check out the performers based on their price range first, and then listened to their sample music next. I was very particular on the sound of Canon D that I wanted (I wanted a quicker tempo) and gigmasters also has a deposit guarantee so I felt safe booking them. What are you going to do about a cake? I know they have an on-site pastry chef but I havent read any reviews online about cake service there. What menu options are you leaning towards? I think we are going for the family style. I havent heard goid reviews on the lemon pepper chicken. I plan to taste test in Nov while my mom is here as well. Let me know how their linen choices go! I inquired about their chair cover rental and it was INSANE! They want between $6-8 per chair! I about died when I read that! But you are allowed to bring in your own chair cover vendor and I found one for $2.50 a chair, thank you! Hah! Thats all I can think of for now. If you dont mind me asking, how much is your floral budget? Have you chosen a DJ yet?

I adore their lawn and gardens.. that's what sealed the deal for us basically.  Next year they are having a brick path built in the center which will double as an isle to the pergula.   That will be done before our date so that will be something new also!  I will have to email Amanda.. I work with her too.. and see what type of isle runner I will need.

I'm not sure what we are doing about the cake yet.  The mansion suggested Fleckenstein’s.. but I think I am going to check out Creative Cakes in Tinley Park.  I'm not sure about their pricing yet but a friend of mine who is the Bolingbrook Golf Club wedding coordinator recomended them to me and said their cakes are the best.  I also don't have a DJ as of yet but that will be the next big thing I tackle.. I was told by my WC friend that Jimmy from Music Mania is the best around.. And they also have a photobooth which I am also needing for my day so its the next thing I am looking into.  Again though.. I have no idea about prices.

For food I think we are going to go the dinner style and choose two types of entrees for our guests.  We really have no idea what we plan on serving yet though.. We were thinking a chicken and possibly the pork roast..  FI mensioned the lemon pepper chicken but I'll share the review with him!

I cannot believe how much they charge for chair rentals!! Oh my gosh.. I had no idea!  I plan on going there in the next two weeks to really look through things and ask these types of questions.  Im kind of bummed though because I didn't plan on worrying about chair rentals since they had that all there but I refuse to pay a rediculous amount like that.  Oy.. one more thing on the list haha.

As for the flowers my budget is 2,500 and Kio is giving me everything I want with not one little tweek for less than that.  I thought for sure I was going to go over budget with all of my requests.. but that wasn't the case.  When I got engaged I told the FI I would not skimp on my dress, the venue, or the flowers so this is one of the larger expences.  I plan to DIY a lot of other things to make up for this chunk of money but for me it is well worth it!

Anyways.. I could go on forever.. but I'm in the process of making a bio as well so hopefully that will be up soon!  I will let you know how my meeting goes and any other info on vendors that I have!
