Reserving hotel rooms?

Hi, any suggestions on reserving a block of hotel rooms in the city? I would like to provide guests with an affordable option especially since parking will probably cost an arm and a leg for those driving in. Thanks

i have a block reserved at the W and they were $200 a night. the guy there (scott, i believe) was very helpful and responsive. my venue gave me several choices though, you may want to ask your coordinator.

I used hotelplanner.com. The best thing about it is you never have to give your contact info out to the hotels so they dont keep bugging you. It is like a bidding system. We got rates from $99-$179 (We chose 3 hotels to block, each in a different range) My Bio has more info. Most will block 10 rooms a night for you without a guarantee, then they add to them as they fill up.

I used hotelplanner.com - but ended up doing something I found on my own. Hotelplanner.com does not take into account parking - which can vary significantly. We were able to find something closer to our venue (which will make transportation to/from the event cheaper for our guests) with lower parking - but the nightly hotel rate is higher. Overall, the guests will save money. So, just keep these additional items in mind.

We worked with Hotel 71 and got a very competitive rate in the city. They were fantastic to work with and extremely accommodating. We booked over 100 rooms and had to do a guarantee for I think 90% (can't remember exactly), but almost 100% of our guests were from out of town so we knew we'd hit the target. They even let us add 10 more rooms after our block got filled up. Guests were very happy with everything about the hotel. They also have a fantastic presidential suite which we used as a bridal party room and for our after party.

I booked a block at the Sheraton Chicago for $129/night.  I was able to block 10 rooms without any deposit and was told that I could block an additional 10 rooms without a deposit once reservations were secured for the first 10.  They also gave me a junior suite with a double connector (2 double beds) for $258/night.
