CHURCH

What kinds of decorations are putting in the church besides flowers at the alter?

We are doing ivory satin pew bows with hydrangeas down the center aisle, our monogrammed aisle runner, wreaths for the church doors.....and I think that is it.

Thanks. Did you make your aisle runner or are you buying it?  Are the flowers in the center aisle going to be on floor next to the pews or somehow worked in with each pew bow?    Are you making the bows or someone providing them for you?

Our church is so ornate (Greek Orthodox) so we aren't doing anything aside from tall pillar candles in the aisles that the church supplies.

I'm not doing any flowers at the alter. It's a huge Catholic church and it doesn't really need much decorating. I'm doing some pomanders on the pews- that's about it.

Ditto.  I think I may do 6 bows for the pews (front, middle, back) with some flowers or maybe two bigger centerpieces near the alter, but not even sure about that. Actually, all the florists I met with, told me to go with simple floral decor so there's so much "art "already

<div>I am making my aisle runner. I purchased a good quality white fabric aisle runner and will be painting our monogram on it. I'm using the instructions on this site:</div><div><a href="http://roadtotheaisle.blogspot.com/2007/07/diy-aisle-runner.html">http://roadtotheaisle.blogspot.com/2007/07/diy-aisle-runner.html</a></div><div>
</div><div>For the bows, I bought white satin chair sashes that I will be tying around the pews. The flowers will be stuck in the top of the bow sorta like this: <div style="border-style:initial;border-color:initial;outline-width:0px;outline-style:initial;outline-color:initial;font-weight:inherit;font-style:inherit;font-size:11px;font-family:inherit;vertical-align:baseline;border-width:0px;padding:0px;margin:0px;"><a style="border-style:initial;border-color:initial;outline-width:0px;outline-style:initial;outline-color:initial;font-weight:normal;font-style:inherit;font-size:11px;font-family:inherit;vertical-align:baseline;text-decoration:underline;color:#4c402a;border-width:0px;padding:0px;margin:0px;" href="http://www.events-by-design.net/LowePewBows.jpg">http://www.events-by-design.net/LowePewBows.jpg</a></div></div>

We are not doing alter flowers either...it is as well a huge Catholic church and for the amount of money for those they would just be lost.  Our florist is putting up 8 beautiful floral bunches with ribbons on the pews...our church aisle is in quads.
