Getting married at the zoo?

I've been looking and looking and (of course) the majority of venues that I'm finding in my area are banquet halls/country club type things.
The only unique one I've found so far is Brookfield Zoo, and it's not really ringing my bells, y'know?

I've been living on the other side of the country for three years, so I'm rusty on what Chicago has to offer. Hopefully you ladies can help jog my memory with some cool places that AREN'T your typical banquet hall (not that there's anything wrong with that, just want something with some extra flair and personality) Think museums, restaurants, etc. Anywhere in chicago or the south suburbs would be cool.

Thanks so much everyone in advance!

What is your budget? There's Navy Pier, the Shedd, the Planetarium, Salvage One, Ravenswood Event Center, Newberry Library, etc.
A LOT of options but your budget is key as to what will work!

Top floor of the Harold S Washington library or the Peggy Notebaert Butterfly museum or the Botanic Gardens. They were out of my price range but they are BEAUTIFUL!

Knowing your budget is a must!  I looked at just about every place in the city and could definitely give recommendations if I knew how much you could spend!

Oh. Dur. Budget probably would help, especially considering how teeny it is. Basically the lower the better, I'm thinking I'd like to cap it at $80 pp. I've found some places I've liked okay as low as $50 pp, but I'm afraid that any place unique will also equal higher prices. I might stretch it up a tad more if I really loved the space. Our overall budget is $10,000, and we're saving a lot of money in other areas, so we can spend more on the reception. (We're also a sunday wedding, so hopefully that will make a difference, too.)

I was at a wedding last year there and it was really different. I liked it a lot. My friend has her reception at the Discovery Zone, but there are several other venues there to hold your reception. The food was awesome and yes, the service was great. We also took a tour on the tram and coctails were in the ape house. I liked it.
