Victorian or English-esque Reception Venues, Northern Suburbs HELP!

Hi all,

You've had such wonderful advice for other brides, I thought I might benefit from it on my question!

I love Victorian England and the writers of that era. I want a venue that can capture that atmosphere. We're getting married at the chapel on my alma mater's campus in Lake Forest, the Lily Reid Holt Memorial Chapel, which was built in 1899. I don't my guests to have to drive too far, and we're on a bit of a budget (my future mother-in-law is making it difficult to accept her money - it comes with many strings attached!) If anyone has an idea of where this sort of wedding could work, I'd love to hear your suggestions!

Thank you!! <3

I would say the best option for you which is not far is Chevy Chase Country Club it is in Wheeling (about 20-30mins away at the most) , the grand ballroom has a very different feel and look to it. (it is not a typical country club) There is alot of history in the room and you can definatly see it when you walk into it.
Otherwise I would look into Lake Forest Academy, Deerpath Inn in Lake Forest.

    I hope this helps.

I highly recommend Seasons of Long Grove. The town is a beautiful, historic village, and the restaurant itself is in an old house with a gorgeous English garden-style courtyard. We're getting married there in August, and I am so excited about it! It's very reasonably priced and the manager (Frank) is awesome. Good luck!
