Illinois-Chicago

just chose BM dresses...meeting with florist on Friday- help with colors!

So..I introduced myself a while back I believe but dont remember if it was on this board or not. Anyway, I am getting married in Schaumburg (Chicago), IL on September 5, 2010.
We just chose long chiffon BM dresses with colors like the picture shown: royal purple (a little darker than the pic), lavender, and lilac alternating, I have 7 bridesmaids. What color bouquets would you guys do?  I was thinking using solid colors- either all white with different textures or bright yellow- but would yellow be too much as an accent color? Sorry, Im in wedding mode right now and all this stuff seems so important! hah  thanks in advance for your help!!

I would go with all white or white with manybe a few yellow accents or a yellow ribbon at the base. It also depends on how much yellow you're using in the rest of the decorations though. The more yellow in the decorations the more yellow I would use in the bouquets.

I think yellow and purple would be prety together. I also think purple flowers would be really pretty.

I'm having a purple wedding too! Haven't gotten to picking out flower phase, but have some thoughts. I was thinking about keeping the flowers purple and perhaps white and using silver or grey as accents. But if you are thinking about yellow and are squimish about the brightness, consider champagne, beige, or light yellow. Another color that I have seen to be beautiful with purple is light green, sage.

I think pure white bouquets against all the variations of purple would look particularly striking.

Look into picasso cala lilies... they are white around the edges and purple on the inside. Then you could use other white/ivory flowers as well.

My friend did purple and red and IMO it looked awesome and totally unexpected! I also like white or yellow. I dont think you can go wrong with either of those. Ask your florist too, they will have ideas I am sure!

I too am having a purple wedding.  We will be using white dendrobium orchids finished with black satin ribbon to accent our simple, elegant, modern design.

I am partial to monochromatic, texturized bouquets against solid color dresses, but that's because I'm doing that with my BMs :) My girls are wearing solid sage green dresses and the bouquets are white rununculus, white roses, white sweet peas, and white mini cala lillies. If you were to do that as well, then I would suggest you use the yellow as the ribbon on the handles to pull in the other accent color.
