florist timeline?

Hi all,

I was just wondering how many months from the wedding should I be concerned about booking a florist.  I've seen on these boards that some florists (like kio kreations) tend to book up early.  What's early (8 months, 10 months, a year)?  I'm planning my wedding from out of town and want to know how much time I have before I'll start losing opportunities with good vendors.  Thanks!

Well, if it were me, I would book it as soon as possible. Especially if there is someone that you really love.  IMO they don't book up as quickly as other vendors because shops can do more than one wedding on a specific day.  But to answer your questions, I don't really know what would qualify as 'early.'

Agreed, book the big ones as early as you can. Most places may only do 1 wedding a weekend.

I booked kiokreations over a year out because I knew I wanted her.

She has been so great. She visited my venue with me because she had not worked there before. After seeing the space she helped me pick my color pallate.
She helped me with the ENTIRE decor of the space.

She is hip, creative and loves what she does, a trememdous talent. I highly recommend Kristen.

I'm at the end of my planning process and at our final meeting she came up with a beautiful new idea for my ceremony flowers. She helped me pick my linen colors to go with her/my final vision of the room.

Can't wait till the wedding to see it all come together. (next weekend!)
