Help! Navy bridesmaids dresses - groomsmen in tuxes

Hello Ladies,

Does anyone have color advice for me?  We decided to do navy with yellow accents for our wedding.  Originally my fiancee was planning to wear a navy suit.  Now he and the groomsmen plan to wear tuxes.  How do I make their tuxes work with navy and yellow?

Per Stacy and Clinton from What Not to Wear, all neutrals "go" together. If the gm are in black tuxes, it will be just fine that your ladies are wearing navy. Remember in Father of the Bride when everyone teased Steve Martin for wearing a navy tux? The men could wear a coordinating vest/tie. If you're really concerned about the black/navy clash, the men could wear gray which coordinates a bit more nicely with navy.

Our colors are Navy & Pink.  I didn't personally love the idea of black tuxes with navy, but it's definitely not a faux pas.  My fiance decided to have a tux made in navy.  Luckily we were able to find a rental shop that is able to order in navy tuxes for the rest of the bridal party to wear.  We're using Formally Modern Tuxedo in the city.  Any good tux shop should be able to help you find exactly what you're looking for.

We also talked about the possibility of the guys wearing grey, but I was worried the overall look would be more causal than we had planned.  It really just depends on your venue, setting, & overall theme.

Black and navy are just fine together.  I never would have thought it, but I went shopping with a personal shopper a few months ago, and she put a navy & white shirt with a black sweater, and together, it makes the colors POP!  It's one of my favorite outfits now.  Don't be scared!

I have Navy BM dresses, men are wearing black tuxes, black vests and navy/white stripped ties. It will all go together just fine... You could also do navy vests and navy ties....

My colors are navy and pink too.  My BM dresses are navy and GM are wearing black tuxes with silver vests & silver striped ties.  I was nervous about the black tuxes at first too.  However, when I held up their black tuxes to the navy dresses I actually really liked the way they look together!  Good luck!

Thank you!  I feel much better that  other people have worried about this (of course) and that Stacy & Clinton approve too.  I can send my fiancee off tux shopping confidently now.

Our colors are navy and blush. Our guys are wearing a classic tux with black ties. It's up to you though. I don't prefer the matchy-matchy look. Just b/c I'm wearing white doesn't mean that I would ask FI to wear a white tux/suit.

I am in a wedding in May with the Navy/Yellow combo.  My dress is Navy and the groomsmen are wearing tuxes.  They have Navy vests and ties.  I think it will look just fine.

My wedding was black tuxes with navy BM dresses and apple green accents, it looked great IMO, I don't like matchy matchy either. The girls wore black shoes so that tied them in a bit, but I would definitely go black!
