What kind of dresses should I be looking at?

Starting to look at gown ideas and wanted to get some feedback from other brides.

I am about 5'7 and I am smaller up top but more pear shaped at the bottom. I have a bit of a stomach and I am very self conscious about it.

What dresses are good for us "thick around the middle" girls?

Aline or a soft ball gown would hide your flaws best. You have lots of options with those 2 styles and then you can either do strapless or a halter or any kind of straps you want!
I'm plus size with hips (and boobs) and my dress is a soft ball gown which means it's not a big poufy princess gown but is fuller than an a-line.

I'm pear shaped and strapless A-lines looked best on me.
I would steer clear of mermaids and fitted gowns below your hip.
If you have a good consultant, they should be able to show you styles that would suit your figure the best. I worked with Rhonda at A L'amour and she was incredible at showing me dresses that would look good on me and that fit my "want" list!
