Without really knowing what type of backdrop you are looking for......general outdoor settings that are nice include Long Grove, the grounds around Independence Grove in Libertyville, the  Chicago Botanical Gardens, Lakewood Forest Preserve in Wauconda........there is some really nice architecture in Woodstock, Baha'i Temple in Wilmette,  several independent public lake areas from Arlington Heights thru the Chain O' Lakes.......

Thanks for the suggestions! We are looking for an outdoor, parky feel.

NW burbs is a pretty large area. Where are your ceremony and reception located so we can narrow it down?

North School Park in Arlington Heights (AH Road and Euclid Ave) is extremely popular for weddings, proms, homecoming, etc. and has a beautiful fountain. Lake Arlington is also really beautiful (Palatine Rd and Windsor) with park areas and the lake itself..

In Rosemont, there's a waterfall at the corner of Higgins and River that I always see wedding pictures being taken at.

I live in Des Plaines (where there are NO picture locations - haha!), but we did a shoot at Northwestern's Evanston campus. I know it's not exactly "northwest" - but if you can make it work, it's fabulous!

And by the way, the photographer - James Currie - is AMAZING. A++++ work and I can't recommend enough!
