co-worker invitation dilemma

I'm hoping you guys can give some guidance regarding inviting co-workers to your wedding. I wasn't planning to invite any of my co-workers (there are too many, so it would be hard to leave anyone out otherwise), but is it inappropriate not to invite my boss? Please let me know what you think..I am so confused about what to do. Thanks!

If you aren't planning on inviting other co-workers and you aren't really close with your boss, I don't think you need invite your boss.  It may depend on your workplace and the norms there, but where I worked my boss would have thought it weird if I invited him.

I think that if you aren't inviting any coworkers then it's safe to not invite your boss.  However, if you are close to your boss you could invite just them.  But if they were not in your orginal headcount...don't stress about it coworkers tend to understand how costly weddings are and don't necessarily expect to be invited.

    Coworker invitations are tough.

I work in a small group and had been planning on inviting all 12 people.
But now I am may be switching jobs and not sure what I will do...

    Aren't guest lists fun?

Okay, I'm going to ask a serious question:  how much time do you plan to take from work for pre-wedding and wedding related activities, including the honeymoon?  If you are doing wedding realted stuff at work and taking at least a week from work for wedding stuff, invite the boss.  They may decline the invitation but it will serve as a sort of insurance policy.  I know a lot of people don't want to talk about this kind of thing.  Many brides-to-be get lots of things accomplished for the wedding at work and hope people don't notice.  I think it would be wise to keep the boss in the loop.  Just a thought.
