George Street Photography..

This is my photography company and I am extremely happy with my choice (despite the fact that the customer service isn't 100% the GREATEST- I know the photographer's work is excellent)

Any brides have any good or bad experiences with the company itself that I should be aware of? And most importantly... how long did it take to get your pictures back?

I used them. I was so happy when I booked them, but was kinda disapointed afterwards.... and they knew it.

I got my proofs via website VERY quickly (maybe 3 weeks?) and then I was given the rights not long after. I am happy with my book (I printed ALL my pics at Costco and put them in books, as well).

I also used them for video. My video is good. But the ONE thing I wanted in my video, which I saw in their example videos when I went into the office, didn't happen. I was pretty mad. I attempted to explain the problem, and they attempted to fix it.... but didn't. Even after I explained what I wanted FROM ONE OF THEIR VIDEOS. Weird. It's like they had no idea what I was talking about. I pretty much gave up and will just settle with what I have. But I still love it and I am so happy I paid the money for it.

However, there is no full-on photo of my father walking me down the aisle. Their excuse was because I had requested a shot of my groom's face as I walked down the aisle. I would have appreciated them telling me that those two photos are hard to get at the same time BEFORE the wedding day. I thought a nice picture of my Dad and I was a given. So now I have a picture of Dad and me walking, but it is over the heads of my congregation... from the outside aisle. Grrrrrrr. Not. Happy. At. All. I then asked if they can capture a still photo from the video... no go, for some reason. Again... grrrrrr.

I guess overall I thought I was going to get more "photo journalism" shots. This is why I hired them. Not really what I got. Maybe I wasn't specific enough?

So when you fill out the planning sheet.... include ALL photos you want. Think now and describe them. My photog looked at that sheet like it was the Bible. I suppose I took for granted that he was the professional and would direct me with nice poses. It is such a busy day and you are NOT thinking. So if you want a pic of you jumping in your new husbands arms... WRITE IT DOWN!

But did I get some nice shots? For sure. Did he capture me laughing and my hubby literally gazing at me? Absolutely. So they are beautiful, but just not 100% of what I had pictured in my minds eye. Maybe some of it being my own fault too.

    Hope this helps you.

Erin, I know that on the Kodak Picture Kiosks at CVS, there is a feature to print photos from video. I'm not sure if your wedding video is a format that is compatible with the kiosk, but you could try taking it into a store to see.
