Casual Rehearsal Dinners

Hi Ladies,
Just curious about what you are doing for your rehearsal dinner.

We want to have ours at Nookies 2 on Halsted.  FI and I went there at least once a week during the first couple years we were dating because we lived close by.  We think it will be fun for our guests to do something causual.

Have you ever been to a rehearsal dinner like this?  If so, what did you think of it?
Thanks!

I have never been there but we are having a rather casual rehearsal dinner as well.

I think it's nice to do a casual thing the night prior...hopefully nice and relaxing.  I also think it's cool to have it somewhere where you both frequent and have good memories at.

We had ours at Lou Malnati's.  Just about everyone wore jeans and it was great :)

It's my favorite type of rehearsal dinner! Casual RD's seem to loosen everyone up and help people from different circles mix and mingle which helps the atmosphere at your reception. Have fun! :)

We're having a very casual RD since the wedding is formal and many of FI's GM are from OOT and haven't met anyone else. So we're having the RD at a bowling alley and serving pizza, salad, beer, soda, and bday cake (it's 2 GMs birthdays that day). We thought it would be really fun and would allow everyone to interact and have a blast instead of sitting at a stuffy sit down dinner 2 nights in a row :)

I love casual rehearsal dinners, I have been to bowling and pizza ones, very fun! We wanted to have ours at Cubby Bear and have a baseball theme, but there is a Cubs game that day, so we are going to have it at a Wine Bar.

Our rehearsal dinner is at our host hotel (Hilton Lisle/Naperville). We're doing a Hawaiian theme and requested that everyone wear their bright colors and Hawaiian print shirts. It's not casual in a sense that it's been easy planning the event, but I think it will end up being really fun and casual, bringing in the aloha spirit. =)
