Anyone book with Plantation House in Maui and having problems with them

So I wanted to know if I wasn't the only one with the issues of them saying different things than what they have on their website, saying they have the right to refuse things they said they would do and so forth.  I wish I could move reception sites, but now I can't with one week until the wedding!

I tried to book them for a day after brunch for our wedding a while back.  It didn't work out because they took forever (months) to get back to me and when they did get back to me, they tried to change the terms on me... so we went with someone else.So sorry you have to deal with this... good luck!

argh.  Hey thanks though.  The coordinator had said so many things by email and then changed her mind this last week stating they "reserve the right to do xyz..."  irritating!  It's like, why didn't you tell me before so I could change venues if you're going to be that way...

It really irritates me when vendors promise one thing and then change later!!What are they trying to change?  Sending you lots of knottie vibes so it works out for you!!!

I know! And I thought it wouldn't happen in Hawaii. My WC is completely shocked by it too! I had emailed the event coordinator about two months ago that I had an alarming increase in guests and would have to either up the guest count/renegotiate the min for the event, or change venues. She agreed to having a 40 person 4k event with using the space that is usually for 50. She confirmed in an email. Then in the last two weeks she just sent out two emails saying we have to up the min to 5k for 40 guests! I was LIVID. I talked to the manager and she sent an email saying she never asked for 5k for 40 but always said 4k for 40...*sigh* Well that was the big thing among them all. The other stuff was small but really weird and unheard of stuff...

I'm interested to know how this turned out... I got married there a few years ago and we had some trouble, too.  I wonder if it's the same coordinator.  Anyway, I hope your day turned out wonderful, as I'm sure it did!  In my opinion it's the most amazing place in the world to get married! ;-)

I am a believer!  These knottie vibes helped and it turned out wonderfully!  Even though I haven't been very active on here, I think I'd like to post a vendor review as I've gotten alot of great information on here.I think they are different coordinators as it seems they get a new coordinator every  months.  We decided to meet with the coordinator in person once we got there to make sure everything was going to go as planned.  She seemed alot more relaxed in person and said we could decorate the way we want and do what we wish.  I don't know why the emails were contradicting.  I thought maybe she's the kind of person who is easier to work with in person than via phone or email. The setup was great and turned out nicely.  The food was great!  The drinks were great.  The only thing is I have an unknown charge from the restaurant which I still have to ask about.  Hawaii is a beautiful place and I agree it's an amazing place to get married!
