Hawaii

should i be worried??

ok, it's 3 months out..and my parents, his parents, his brothers and the few handful of friends we invited have NOT bought their tickets or booked anything yet!!his family is staying with family members in HI, which is ok, but they don't even make the effort to look at tickets.. i'm starting to feel nervous. I keep bugging my parents that they need to start looking at where they will stay the weekend after the wedding and look at fares...I even send them prices that i think are reasonable...and Nothin! Money's tight for people i know, but my mom and dad keep saying not to worry, and  they had plenty of notice...it's not like we got engaged 3 months ago.... UGH. am i overreacting? help :(

I can see why you are nervous. I think I would be too! Aren't the flights to Hawaii pretty open? Maybe that's their attitude. But... what are they waiting for?!?

We are just a couple of weeks after you and only our immediate families and maybe like 4 friends have bought tickets and booked accommodations. Invites are being mailed out this week though, so maybe that will jump start people to start figuring out their plans. What I've realized is that everyone thinks November is still far away, so they aren't really thinking about it. Its too bad though because flights are much more expensive now. I am someone who likes to look at stuff early and get the best deals possible, but not everyone is like that. It will all work out in the end, try not to get too stressed about it (I'm telling myself the same thing, even though its hard!).

I would be a little nervous too.  Maybe you could send a travel agent to work with your parents and his family so they could get rolling. There are lots of deals to Hawaii right now so I'm sure they will find something.

both our families are the biggest laggers, so i'm worried overall...esp. the day of. i do not wanna end up running an hour late because people think "oh we have plenty time"... which is never the case... i think i just need to explain to them tonight that tickets aren't going to get much cheaper, so might as well book them now...i'm just having nightmares that our immediate family won't even show up! (that's the stress talking...bear w/ me...) thanks ladies for letting me vent

I'm sure it will work out, hannah.... unfortunately, I'm on the side that always puts getting tickets off - and I think almost everyone that came to our wedding had not bought tickets at the 3 month mark.  I can only think of one couple who booked the earliest, and I'm not even sure if they booked 3 months ahead.you know, if they have to pay more (like I have had to sometimes when I've booked late [not to HNL but to other cities]; but on the other hand, more than 50% of the time prices were good too) that is their fault. You know your folks and his folks, and his brothers will come... maybe prod the friends who haven't bought tix with saying "we just don't want you guys to end up not attending because of the price... - we really hope you will be able to make it..."this link (and rick seany's website, farecompare.com) might be helpful.http://rickseaney.com/category/hawaii/

I am 2 months out and my dad still has not booked and neither has FI's parents or Best men.I just stopped worrying, they will be there. About 10 family members just booked this weekend and they got cheaper fares than all my fam who booked 6 months ago.

My sister (and MOH) didn't book until about 1 month out. Made me a little nervous, but I trusted her, and it all worked out!
