Jen, just for you.. a new post so you can see the answer.I confess I'm a travel addict!! It's been my lifelong crack! I've been working for the airlines forever and there's no way I'd quit since they provide some pretty flight generous benefits. Hawaii for short trips are usually just over my weekend if I don't go see FI. My job has a schedule that is really similar to a pilot's schedule. So I work 3-4 days then I'm off for 3-4 days. (You can throw things at me now - most people want to for that statement)The international travel is mostly pure fun to fill up my passport. My sick goal is to get all the pages stamped. I have only 2 more to go and it's still valid for 5 more years (new pages, here I come). So if I can't get the vacation time, then we can swap work days with co-workers to string lots of time off
The Sydney was partially work, I'm required to observe a flight once a year from the cockpit so they paid me for a few days and part of my hotel bill. The rest of the time, FI and I played tourist, saw the koalas, kangeroos, and the opera house, biked through Sydney. Sorry about the verbal barfing ... I could go on and on here on travelling.I would love a gtg! Especially if it means shopping in LA!! The only knottie I've met is Irishmilla - we went dress shopping together when she was still in Georgia and we had a blast!Btw, didn't you have a Socal gtg recently? Any pictures?*Ouch.. sorry this is so long.
